Independent End-Point Assessor for Children, Young People and Families Practitioner (Level 4) in the Derbyshire area. The Government requires that all apprenticeships include an end-point assessment (EPA) to holistically assess knowledge, skills and behaviour (KSBs) learned throughout the apprenticeship. Pearson must provide employers with confidence that completing an apprenticeship means a candidate is job-ready and that assessments are consistent regardless of location or provider. The EPA is conducted by an independent assessor who has no conflict of interest with the apprentice or training provider.
The end-point assessments will be conducted onsite on dates agreed with employers and/or providers as appropriate. IEAs will record and submit EPA outcomes with clear justifications for grading decisions. EPA activities will be quality assured by Pearson representatives. IEAs for this role will be qualified assessors who meet the occupational profile of the apprentices they assess and will be trained, standardised and approved to operate as IEAs, in line with the associated apprenticeship assessment plan and Pearson materials.
Key Accountabilities include taking part in regular training and standardisation, maintaining CPD, assessing candidates according to published criteria, following Pearson specifications and QA protocols, maintaining service-level agreements, reporting risks and issues, ensuring high-quality EPA reports, supporting appeals if necessary, raising conflicts of interest, completing required personal actions, contributing to continuous improvement and contributing to external QA activities undertaken by OFQUAL.
