PMUK's Home Appliance Division is looking for an enthusiastic Embedded Systems Technician to join the R&D Embedded Systems team. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing and evaluating embedded systems used in home appliances, following test plans to verify requirements, quality, and safety.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Evaluate Embedded Systems: Conduct tests on products and systems according to test plans and standards.
  • Test Planning: Collaborate with engineers to develop comprehensive test plans ensuring functionality and project alignment.
  • Technical Support: Support fault finding, error checking, and reprogramming of sample ovens as needed.
  • Reporting and Recording: Maintain accurate test records, reports, and data storage.
  • Issue Tracking: Track bugs/issues, participate in reviews.
  • System Constants Development: Investigate and optimize system constants like timings and settings.
  • Collaboration: Work with teams to deliver products into production, supporting problem solving and design reviews.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain database of equipment and parts, order as needed.
  • Compliance: Follow regulations, policies, and quality systems like 5S and H&S.
  • Self-Development: Engage in research and training to enhance skills.
  • Understanding of R&D: Gain knowledge of all related departments, roles, and systems.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Essential Requirements
  • Qualifications: GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade C or above, or equivalent engineering-related qualification (HNC/HND, BTEC, ONC, NVQ Level 2).
  • Experience in testing environment and methodology.
  • Hands-on hardware and embedded systems debugging experience.
  • Ability to plan tests, report, evaluate products, and interpret results.
  • Effective team player with good communication and organizational skills.
Desirable Requirements
  • Knowledge of testing variables and tools.
  • Analytical and methodical approach.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and understanding of testing standards.
