Qualifications

  • Design and manufacture electrical equipment & control systems.
  • Generate product technical files, including Bill of Materials.
  • Create PLC wiring diagrams & schematic drawings using CAD.

Electrical Design Engineer – Asthon A/S

Location: Shrewsbury (commutable from Telford, Oswestry, Wrexham, Ellesmere, Wolverhampton, Bridgnorth, Prees, Wem, Market Drayton)

Benefits
  • Competitive basic salary up to £55,000 (depending on experience)
  • Working days 8am – 4:30pm with a 2pm finish on Fridays; flexibility required
  • Permanent position

  • Overtime paid x1.5 weekdays & Saturdays, x2 Sundays

The Role
  • Design and manufacturing of electrical equipment & control systems
  • Generate product technical files (Bill of materials, instructions, etc.)
  • Initial basic concept design with the customer & in‑house design team
  • Create PLC wiring diagrams & schematic drawings using CAD
  • Attend site meetings as necessary
  • Prepare product documents and write reports
  • Modify drawings
  • Research suitable solutions and estimate costs within timescales
  • Ensure work meets company standards
Qualifications & Experience
  • City & Guilds Electrical Qualification, or equivalent – ESSENTIAL
  • Previous experience working in an electrical environment
  • Strong electrical skills and suitable qualification
  • Knowledge of fault finding/diagnostics & installation
  • Working knowledge of PLC/HMI/SCADA software (highly beneficial)
  • Familiarity with Siemens PLC (highly favourable)
  • Ability to read electrical drawings
  • Ability to fault find on existing systems
