We’re looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team of Children’s Support Workers across residential homes in the North East. Responsibilities
  • Offer compassionate support to children with diverse needs, including emotional and behavioural challenges, autism, and learning disabilities.
  • Assist children in developing essential life skills and enhancing their overall well-being.
  • Implement personalized care plans and behaviour management strategies.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and observations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external agencies for holistic care.
  • Respond to challenging behaviours with patience, professionalism, and understanding.
  • Uphold the highest standards of care and adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
Qualifications/Skills
  • A valid full driving licence and a reliable vehicle.
  • Essential experience in Residential Children’s Homes and supporting children with childhood trauma.
  • Flexibility to travel up to an hour to Gateshead, Sunderland, Newcastle, or Durham, and availability for day and night shifts.
  • A commitment to working at least 3 shifts per week.
  • Proof of your Right to Work in the UK.
  • Up-to-date mandatory training certificates, PMVA training, and an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
  • The ability to provide employment references covering the last 3 years.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong childcare experience.
  • Knowledge of child protection and behaviour management.
