Job summary

A leading organization in Northern Ireland is seeking an L&D Officer for a permanent, full-time role based in Belfast. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the full training cycle, leading inductions, and maintaining training materials. Ideal candidates will have experience in technical or manufacturing environments, possess IOSH qualifications, and exhibit strong organizational and IT skills.   • Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging training aligned to company policies.

  • Maintain and update training materials and SOPs.
  • Lead employee inductions and support onboarding.
  • Complete regular competency checks and provide coaching.
  • Support LMS administration and improvement.
  • Contribute to wider development initiatives.

Job description
L&D Officer - Permanent - Belfast

MCS Group is delighted to partner with an award-winning organisation as they look to add an L&D Officer to their team, in this full-time, permanent opportunity.

The role:

In this role, you'll support the full training cycle, lead inductions, maintain training materials, complete competency checks and help manage the Learning Management System. You'll also provide hands‑on support, coaching and mentoring to new and existing employees.

The main responsibilities:
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging training aligned to company policies, procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with People Development and Operations teams to ensure workforce training needs are met.
  • Support the full training cycle, including inductions, refresher training and competency assessments.
  • Maintain and update training materials, SOPs and employee manuals in line with H&S and quality standards.
  • Lead employee inductions and support effective onboarding.
  • Complete regular competency checks and provide coaching, mentoring and 1:1 training where required.
  • Support the administration and continuous improvement of the LMS.
  • Contribute to wider people development initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
The ideal candidate:
  • Similar experience within a technical or manufacturing environment.
  • IOSH qualified (or working towards).
  • Strong organisational, IT and stakeholder management skills.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
