CareTech Community Services, established in 1993, is a national provider of support for people with complex and challenging behaviours associated with autism, learning disabilities, mental health illness and neurological conditions. We support people to live as independently as possible within their own homes and in residential care. We are committed to providing the highest levels of care to our residents and need caring professionals to deliver first‑class care. All applicants will be subject to satisfactory references and all employees are checked against the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS). CareTech is proud to be a Disability Confident Leader.
CareTech supports adults with complex needs and cares for children and young people, offering carefully designed programs in specialist services, many of which have schools and residential services attached. Our services include modern outward‑looking residential care for children, young people and adults and a significant range of supported living schemes that include individual flats, houses and grouped accommodation arrangements. We also operate an acute brain injury rehabilitation centre, specialist hospital services, residential children’s homes and specialist education schools teaching hundreds of students.
Requirements for an enhanced DBS and reference checking will be undertaken in line with government regulations and safer recruitment best practices. While we endeavour to keep the recruitment process short, these checks may extend processing time. All young people are equally entitled to have their needs met fairly and balanced.
We will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check and will focus solely on suitability to work with children. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and risk of discrimination, a person not on the appointment panel will conduct the search and will only share relevant findings.
Employees are responsible for promoting equal opportunities for all and for challenging any behaviour or practice which discriminates against any young person or colleague on race, religion, disability, age, gender, sexual orientation or any other perceived difference.
