A leading care organization in the United Kingdom seeks a Senior Children’s Residential Worker to provide support for a young person with complex needs in a therapeutic environment. The role involves ensuring compliance with regulations, implementing care plans, and facilitating transitions to long-term placements. Requirements include a QCF level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, leadership skills, and proficiency in Welsh. This position promises a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact in a child's life.
37 hours per week
This is an exciting time to join Bridgend CBC as we remodel the way we meet the needs of children who need support in line with the Welsh Government agenda to end profit in children's residential services in Wales.
Hillsboro House provides care and support for one child/young person between the ages of 8-25 years who, due to complex needs, cannot be placed alongside others.
Hillsboro will be used as a short-term bridging placement towards a more suitable and stable long-term placement for a young person. The service is intended to have the ability to become dormant and to become active at short notice if an appropriate child or young person is referred, with status changes communicated to CIW. This means the service will be reactive and can avoid an Out of County placement.
Hillsboro seeks to offer an opportunity for pause and to understand needs to assist in a transition for the child or young person into services best suited to promote positive change and development.
The service will focus on providing a therapeutic environment to stabilise the child’s/young person’s challenging behaviour, address risk-taking behaviours, reconnect to education, training or employment where necessary, and support the identification of suitable long-term move-on placements.
