The post holder will take a leading role on more complex planning applications with the help of the section Team leader as well as working collaboratively with colleagues in the team to balance competing demands with delivering robust, defensible transportation comments and observations to the town planners.

Alongside the team leader, you will also contribute to the mentoring and professional development of junior team members, helping to build capability and resilience with the team.

You will have significant experience and working knowledge of highway engineering, transport policy and highway development control matters together with an understanding of the range of issues relating to the provision and delivery of transportation services, both at a local and regional level.

You will be confident dealing with pressured schemes and sometimes tight timescales, while maintaining a constructive and proportionate approach the team has become known for.
