A local government authority in Cardiff is seeking a motivated individual to join their Passenger Transport Team. Responsibilities include liaising with bus operators, coordinating compliance checks, and ensuring the delivery of essential public bus services. The ideal candidate will be organised and experienced in procurement, with a focus on improving contractor health and safety policies. This is a full-time permanent position with a focus on community service and regulatory compliance.
Cardiff is a vibrant and growing city, and we have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our Passenger Transport Team.
Liaising with bus operators and stakeholders on all issues relating to the public transport network. Co-ordinating spot checks and follow up work on all Passenger Transport routes and contractors, vetting contactor Health & safety policies, supporting contractors to improve their systems and processes to improve management, co-ordinating and delivering Training to contractors and drivers and escorts.
To co-ordinate the delivery of all Social Necessary Supported Public Bus Services.
Co-ordinating the procurement of all contracts required for Supported Public Bus Services and the contractual compliance including checks.
Undertaking the checking and assessment of new Contractors qualifications and requirements on Approved Supplier List.
Liaising with operators/contractors, drivers/escorts, passengers and parents on all issues involving public and school transport on a day to day basis.
To monitor, review and process disability and companion concessionary bus pass scheme applications and contractors claims.
