Job summary

A church organization in Kidlington is seeking an experienced minister to join their Continuing Ministerial Development team. An opportunity has arisen to join the Diocese of Oxford in our vibrant Mission and Ministry Department. We are looking to recruit an experienced minister with experience in coordinating and delivering high-quality training events, to play a key role in our Continuing Ministerial Development (CMD) team.

Annual Salary: £45,378.55 pro rata

Salary Band: J

Hours: 22.2 hours a week (0.6)

Contract: Permanent

Location: Church House Oxford, Langford Locks, Kidlington

Closing date: Sunday 8 March 2026

Interview Date: 18 March 2026 in person at Church House, Oxford

The Role

You will share in the development and delivery of a wide, deep, agile, and imaginative programme of continuing ministerial training and development which resources and enables licensed, ordained, and lay ministers across the Diocese to thrive. The three key elements to the role are:

  • to manage the delivery of the CMD programme across the Diocese for licensed ordained and lay ministers;
  • to review the CMD taken by licensed ordained and lay ministers both through and outside the diocesan provision;
  • to manage the diocesan sabbatical and grants schemes, and to hold communications around all other grants schemes related to the CMD of licensed ordained and lay ministers.
About You

You have a passion for seeing people grow in Christ and in ministry. You have sufficient experience of Christian learning and growing people in ministry to contribute substantially to the review and development of our continuing ministerial development provision. You have the administrative ability to manage and develop a suite of training programmes and support schemes. You have the flair and imagination to communicate our training provision attractively and accurately. You have proven experience in timely and high-quality administrative work, comfort in a multimedia environment, confident communication skills, and excellent organisational abilities, with a person-centred, can-do approach.

There is a genuine occupational requirement for the post holder to be a baptised Christian, woman or man, lay or ordained, who is a communicant member in good standing with the Anglican Church or in another Church which subscribes to the doctrine of the Holy Trinity.
