Job description

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in London in the search for a Planning Validations Officer to join their Town Planning department.

Main responsibilities of the role will include:

• Validating and processing all types of planning applications including checking submissions against national and local check lists and relevant guidance, checking accuracy of the drawings, identifying statutory and non‑statutory consultees in compliance with the Council's requirements.
• Using Uniform (Idox) to redact, upload and update all documents and relevant information relating to Planning Applications.
• Providing advice on planning applications. To provide information, guidance and advice as required to applicants, agents and members of the public.
• Providing responses to correspondence and telephone enquiries, complaints and e‑mails within the Council's Corporate time scales.
• Liaising with officers in development management, planning policy and other departments.
• Undertaking other duties and responsibilities of a similar nature and of a similar responsibility to those described above, which may be allocated from time to time and to provide cover for absent team members.
