We’re looking for a seasoned Sr. Brand Designer / Art Director to help us explore, reinvent, and communicate the future of how people own, move, and grow their money - independent thinkers who believe in a tomorrow where cryptocurrency empowers individuals and forms the foundation of a more inclusive financial system.

We’re looking for a highly skilled brand designer with a strong visual and conceptual background — detail-oriented, systems-minded, and passionate about storytelling and crafting meaningful experiences for our customers. As part of our Brand Design team, you’ll collaborate closely with product, marketing, and other external and internal partners to shape and evolve Kraken’s brand across multiple touchpoints.

The opportunity

• Collaborate with stakeholders and Brand Design teammates to concept, design, and art-direct brand assets that elevate our product stories.

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of Kraken’s visual identity (and its sub-brands) and brand guidelines, ensuring consistency and cohesion across our product ecosystem and all brand communications.

• Create high-quality, distinctive design across digital, animation and graphic design; from big campaign ideas to meticulous execution.

• Take concepts from insights and research through exploration, concepting, and final delivery, owning your work end-to-end.

• Translate complex ideas (crypto, trading, investing, staking) into clear, compelling visual narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.

• Actively participate in design reviews; giving and receiving thoughtful, constructive feedback.

• Contribute to a strong, inclusive, and creatively ambitious design team culture.

• Partner closely with marketing, growth, product, and internal teams to deliver cohesive, cross-functional creative.

• Take full accountability for the details of your work - from typography and layout to production readiness.

• Explore emerging design tools, including AI, and trends to keep Kraken’s brand bold, future-facing, and differentiated.

Skills you should HODL

• Significant experience as a brand designer / art director (agency, in-house, or startup), working with multiple teams on a variety of projects.

• A strong portfolio showcasing detail-oriented design work, clear visual systems, and strategic, provocative creative thinking.

• Mastery of core graphic design fundamentals: typography, color, layout, hierarchy, and composition.

• Demonstrated ability to craft and communicate a visual story: from high-level concept through to final design and presentation.

• Mastery of Figma and Adobe design tools.

• Comfortable working independently or under direction from creative leads, driving multiple projects at a time and iterating quickly.

• Clear, proactive communicator, confident presenting work, explaining decisions, and aligning stakeholders

• Motivated by fast-paced, evolving creative challenges with a passion (or strong curiosity) for crypto, culture, and emerging technology

• Experience with motion design or collaborating closely with motion designers.
