Position Summary
  • Responsible for the maintenance of phyto-remediation tree plantations at Belle Park
  • Assist with storm water surveillance sampling
  • Assist with monitoring well abandonment, spills response, soil, surface water and groundwater sampling
  • Some physical labour required i.e. carrying equipment, walking for long durations along waterfront, and through wooded and swampy areas across the city (in all weather conditions)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Hours of operation are typically Monday – Friday: between 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Qualifications, Competencies
  • MUST BE ENROLLED IN AND RETURNING TO FULL-TIME POST SECONDARY STUDIES IN FALL OF 2026 – Verification will be required
  • Must have completed two semesters of college or university in an Environmental or Engineering program of study
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class 'G'.
  • Experience with landscaping equipment considered an asset

  • Ability to work outside in inclement weather conditions
  • Able to perform the essential duties of the job such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and walking for long durations
  • Must provide and wear green patch safety shoes during shifts when required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
