Job summary

A healthcare organization in Bournemouth seeks a Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. The ideal candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team to support young people’s mental health within inpatient settings. Responsibilities include assessment and treatment planning, direct patient engagement, and significant contributions to service development. The position offers a competitive salary of £109,725 - £145,478 p.a., relocation support, enhanced recruitment retention payments, and numerous NHS benefits, including flexible working opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a License to Practice and be on Specialist Register in Psychiatry.
  • Experience in medicine outside psychiatry, such as general practice.
  • Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician approval or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Community CAMHS colleagues to support young people's mental health.
  • Engage in assessment, treatment planning, and review with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in service developments and support management skills.

Skills

Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective
Teaching Experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Evidence of effective multidisciplinary team involvement

Education

General medical Qualification e.g. MBBS
MRCPsych or recognized equivalent
CCT in Psychiatry
