Location: Eastbourne, East Sussex (office-based)

Travel: UK, US, Taiwan & suppliers as required

Reports to: Group CEO (with functional links to Group Finance Director & Taiwan GM)

Direct reports: Purchasing & Inventory Controller (UK/US), ISO/Quality Administrator

Role Purpose

Lead the end-to-end Group supply chain, covering procurement, planning, logistics, supplier quality, NPI/productionisation and technical compliance. Ensure smooth product launch, reliable supply, robust supplier performance, compliant imports, and optimised inventory across UK/US/Taiwan.

Key Responsibilities

1. Group Supply Chain Leadership

• Own supply chain standards, processes, KPIs and reporting across the Group.
• Lead and develop the supply chain team.
• Maintain disciplined processes across purchasing, supplier management, logistics, stock control and master data.

2. Planning, Inventory & Service

• Improve stock turns, reduce slow-moving items, maintain availability and support cashflow targets.
• Ensure accurate stock management and replenishment parameters.
• Own supplier strategy and relationships (primarily China/Taiwan).
• Lead performance reviews, negotiate pricing/MOQs/payment terms, and implement agreements.
• Manage supplier risk, dual sourcing and continuity planning; visit suppliers as required.

4. Logistics & Importing

• Manage inbound logistics, freight decisions and cost control.
• Ensure compliant and accurate import/shipping documentation (Incoterms, HS codes, certificates).
• Resolve clearance issues and maintain documentation accuracy.
• Own end‑to‑end NPI readiness from design release to stable supply.
• Work closely with Product Development Manager.
• Coordinate prototypes/FAI/pilot builds; ensure DFM/DFA feedback and complete release packs.

6. Supplier Quality & Compliance

• Own supplier quality standards, incoming inspection requirements and nonconformance/CAPA.
• Maintain supplier scorecards and support ISO 9001 technical compliance.
• Manage RoHS/REACH and customer compliance documentation; maintain evidence libraries.

7. Key Code Governance

• Own creation, change control and retirement of key codes.
• Maintain secure access, traceability and ISO audit readiness.
• Ensure controlled engineering change management.
• Maintain accurate ERP data (BOMs, revisions, supplier info, planning parameters).
• Plan stock disposition for superseded items.

9. Cross-Functional Leadership & CI

• Link Design, Production, Purchasing and suppliers to reduce disruption.
• Drive continuous improvement across service, cost, inventory, quality and process compliance.

Key Relationships

Internal: CEO, Finance Director, Design, Supply Chain, Production, Warehouse, Sales/CS, US office, Taiwan teams

External: Suppliers/factories, freight partners, customs agents, auditors, customer quality teams

Skills & Experience

• Senior supply chain/procurement leadership in manufacturing/distribution.
• Strong supplier negotiation and management.
• NPI/productionisation experience and robust change control.
• Supplier quality leadership (CAPA/8D) and ISO 9001 understanding.
• Knowledge of RoHS/REACH compliance.
• Importing/shipping knowledge (Incoterms, HS codes).
• Strong ERP/Excel capability and disciplined data/process control.
• Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder influence.
