Vacancy for Salaried GP (up-to 2 years post qualification)
To commence April 2026, or sooner if available.
We are flexible to considering a salaried GP with a view to partnership.
Undertake all the duties associated with the role of a General Practitioner required by the GMS contract including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and paperwork.
Comply with all the objectives of the GMS Contract.
Support and contribute to the development of Practice clinical procedures and protocols.
Accurate and timely input of patient data onto the clinical system.
Carrying out clinical audit as appropriate.
Completion of reports for solicitors, insurance companies, DVLA and others.
Liaise with other health care professionals when required.
Act in a way that protects the confidentiality of patients and maintains the integrity of the patient / Practice relationship.
Take an active role and contribute to Practice meetings.
Support the development and compliance of the Practice Health and Safety policy.
Participate in the GP appraisal scheme.
Attend Practice training sessions whenever possible.
Maintain medical currency in line with your Personal Development Plan.
Contribute to the development and improvement of the Practice.
Work safely at all times in accordance with Legislative requirements and Practice Policy and Procedures.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care. This will include a share of weekly on-call duties.
In accordance with the Practice timetable, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including both face to face and telephone consultations and home visits as well as dealing with administration work, including prescriptions, results, letters and reports.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic GP to join our team. Willington Medical Group is a friendly and supportive working environment. The Practice has a patient population of around 9,250 and is still growing. Parking is available on site.
We play an active role in our local PCN and have an excellent clinical, admin and management support teams to support the right individual in the role. Dr Wilmer, one of our GP Partners is Wear Valley PCN Clinical Director.
