A leading public sector trade union in Newcastle upon Tyne is looking for an enthusiastic Administrator to provide comprehensive administrative support across various functions. The role requires IT proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong organizational skills, and the ability to liaise with diverse stakeholders. Ideal candidates should have an understanding of the trade union movement, although prior experience is not necessary. This position is critical in supporting team operations and enhancing the effectiveness of initiatives. Applications must be submitted by email or post before the deadline.

You need to be an enthusiastic, flexible and resourceful individual to support our growing organisation. The Administrator will provide a range of administrative and organising support across a number of functions and specifically to support the work of the Regional Labour Link and the Regional Management Team. You will provide administrative and organisational support services undertaking a wide range of duties including maintaining diary management, producing and maintaining databases, co-ordination of meetings and events. An important part of the role will be liaison with a range of stakeholders both internally and externally including UNISON members and other external parties, such as Labour Party members, councillors and MPs. You will need to be able to use UNISON’s IT applications and relevant office equipment. You will need to be IT proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and other software packages, accurately touch typing at speed and help to maintain databases including our case management records. For this role, you do not have to have a trade union background, but you do need to have an understanding and commitment with the aims and values of the trade union movement.
