Senior Product Designer – Edinburgh, United Kingdom

Responsibilities

• This role focuses on end-to-end product design, from concept ideation and prototyping to final delivery and iteration of consumer-facing features.
• Refine UX and UI across Speechifys native mobile applications (iOS and Android) and potentially web platforms.
• Rethink and optimize core user journeys, including onboarding and critical user flows, to enhance engagement and retention.
• Participate in shaping the product roadmap, leveraging data analytics and user research to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
• Contribute to the evolution of the design organization, refining processes and best practices within a distributed, high-growth team.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, prototype, test, build, ship, and iterate on new product features with strong UX and technical feasibility.
• Conduct user research (customer interviews, usability testing) to inform design decisions and product strategy.
• Design intuitive user flows and onboarding experiences to maximize adoption and engagement across platforms.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and AI Researchers to translate requirements into design solutions.
• Develop and maintain a consistent UX/UI design system across iOS, Android, and web.
• Analyze product performance data and user feedback to identify pain points and opportunities for optimization.
• Contribute to product strategy and feature prioritization from a design perspective.
• Champion accessibility, usability, and design best practices throughout the lifecycle.
• Participate in design critiques and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Skills & Qualifications

Education: Bachelors or Masters in Design, HCI, CS, or related field preferred; equivalent practical experience considered.

Experience:

• 5-10 years in product design with a track record of delivering consumer-facing digital products across mobile and web.
• Experience across the full product lifecycle: research, discovery, wireframing, prototyping, UI design, testing, and shipping.
• Experience in a high-growth startup and/or fully remote team is advantageous.
