Responsibilities
- This role focuses on end-to-end product design, from concept ideation and prototyping to final delivery and iteration of consumer-facing features.
- Refine UX and UI across Speechifys native mobile applications (iOS and Android) and potentially web platforms.
- Rethink and optimize core user journeys, including onboarding and critical user flows, to enhance engagement and retention.
- Participate in shaping the product roadmap, leveraging data analytics and user research to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Contribute to the evolution of the design organization, refining processes and best practices within a distributed, high-growth team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, prototype, test, build, ship, and iterate on new product features with strong UX and technical feasibility.
- Conduct user research (customer interviews, usability testing) to inform design decisions and product strategy.
- Design intuitive user flows and onboarding experiences to maximize adoption and engagement across platforms.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and AI Researchers to translate requirements into design solutions.
- Develop and maintain a consistent UX/UI design system across iOS, Android, and web.
- Analyze product performance data and user feedback to identify pain points and opportunities for optimization.
- Contribute to product strategy and feature prioritization from a design perspective.
- Champion accessibility, usability, and design best practices throughout the lifecycle.
- Participate in design critiques and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Support development of internal design processes, tools, and documentation for a distributed organization.
Skills & Qualifications
Education: Bachelors or Masters in Design, HCI, CS, or related field preferred; equivalent practical experience considered.
Experience:
- 5-10 years in product design with a track record of delivering consumer-facing digital products across mobile and web.
- Experience across the full product lifecycle: research, discovery, wireframing, prototyping, UI design, testing, and shipping.
- Experience in a high-growth startup and/or fully remote team is advantageous.
Required Skills:
- Product Thinking: translate business strategy into design decisions and leverage analytics.
- User Research & Discovery: conduct interviews, surveys, usability testing, synthesize findings.
- UX/UI Design: create intuitive interfaces, flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups for mobile and web.
- Prototyping: create interactive prototypes with tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
- Collaboration: work with cross-functional teams including AI specialists.
- Communication: articulate design rationale clearly and document decisions.
- Customer-Centricity: advocate for user needs and feedback.

- Typography & Information Design; Micro-Interactions; Audio Design
- Accessibility (WCAG); Figma Proficiency; Experience with AI-driven products

Salary & Benefits (Illustrative)
- Salary range: £60,000 – £90,000 annually, depending on experience and portfolio strength.
