Job description

Acquisitions Systems Ltd is looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join our well-established and growing engineering company. This role is based from our Northern office in Runcorn.

ASL is an engineering focussed company that is agile to market needs to ensure we provide software and products that assist our customers in achieving regulatory compliance and are easy to use. A key strength remains in our ability to provide a turnkey project from design, build, installation and qualification through to system lifetime support and calibration which is only possible with our expert teams.

The Role

Responsible for the successful implementation, installation and testing of instrumentation and control systems for engineering customers.

The role includes, but is not limited to, the following activities relating to ASL environmental monitoring systems:

• Assembly and test of ASL hardware products.
• Installation of ASL control and instrumentation hardware on customer systems.
• Termination of control and instrumentation wiring.
• Performing commissioning testing on installed equipment, following a predefined and agreed procedure.
• Producing/Developing project electrical drawings.
• Assisting the Project Lead and their team in providing support to engineering customers.
• Duties to be carried out at ASL offices and at customer sites. Customer sites may by construction sites and may be overseas or offshore.
• 50-60% of the role is expected to be site based
• Any additional task that may arise during normal day-to-day duties, in accordance with company and customer policies and company contractual obligations and/or that are required to fulfil business needs.

Skills/Experience/Qualifications

• Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (e.g. Excel, Word & Outlook).
• Experience of Panel Wiring on Customer Sites.
• At least 2 years working experience in a service/commissioning/project engineering role.
• HNC or similar in relevant engineering disciplinary would be desirable.
• Excellent customer service skills are essential.
• Knowledge of 17th/18th Edition Wiring would be desirable
• Knowledge of SCADA packages is desirable.
• Literate in the use CAD packages such as TurboCAD would be desirable.
• Experience of EMC Gland terminations would be desirable.
• Organised, self-motivated, and comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays.
