Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team, supporting pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours. Working closely with teachers and specialists, you will play a key role in helping pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Support pupils with learning activities, adapting your approach to meet individual needs
  • Encourage engagement, confidence and independence in learning
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural development using trauma-informed approaches
  • Help manage behaviour positively in line with school policies
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for all pupils
  • Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing with empathy, consistency and care
  • Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of resources
  • Support record-keeping and monitoring of pupil progress as directed
  • Help maintain a clean, safe and well‑organised learning environment

We are a small school which effectively supports children through their educational journey. Our pupils may have previously experienced significant and prolonged periods of disengagement and/or disaffection in their education.
