Overview

Your new company A well‑established and design‑led building services engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to support its continued growth across the UK. This role offers the opportunity to take a technical lead position on a range of high‑profile and technically challenging projects, working closely with associates, project teams and clients. Your new role: You will be responsible for leading the electrical building services design on projects from concept through to construction, providing technical direction and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the electrical design of building services systems, including power, lighting, fire alarms, data, security and life‑safety systems
• Producing and reviewing calculations, specifications, drawings and technical reports
• Coordinating with mechanical engineers, architects and external consultants
• Acting as a key technical point of contact for clients and project teams
• Attending design team and client meetings
• Managing and mentoring intermediate and junior engineers
• Ensuring designs meet UK regulations, standards and best practice

Project Sectors

• Healthcare - hospitals, acute care and specialist facilities
• Commercial - offices, mixed‑use schemes and fit‑out projects
• Residential - high‑quality apartment and large‑scale residential developments

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Proven experience as a Senior or strong Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer within UK building services
• Excellent knowledge of UK standards, regulations and design processes
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services
• Competent with Amtech, Dialux/Relux and AutoCAD (Revit experience beneficial)
• Working toward or already Chartered (IEng or CEng)
• Confident communicator with leadership and mentoring capability
