Senior Manager, Store Commercial Performance & Planning

United Kingdom, London

Why PlayStation?

PlayStation isn’t just the Best Place to Play — it’s also the Best Place to Work. Today, we’re recognized as a global leader in entertainment producing The PlayStation family of products and services including PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, PlayStation®VR, PlayStation®Plus, acclaimed PlayStation software titles from PlayStation Studios, and more.

PlayStation also strives to create an inclusive environment that empowers employees and embraces diversity. We welcome and encourage everyone who has a passion and curiosity for innovation, technology, and play to explore our open positions and join our growing global team.

The PlayStation brand falls under Sony Interactive Entertainment, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation.

Role overview:

PlayStation Store is a multibillion-dollar global digital commerce platform at the center of how players discover, buy, and enjoy content - and this role sits at the heart of planning, delivering and continually elevating that experience.

As the Senior Manager, Store Commercial Performance & Planning, you will work with senior leaders across the Direct‑to‑Consumer teams, Finance, Marketing, and Analytics & Insight teams to define the Store’s commercial plan and support the trading rhythm, translating strategy into clear objectives, KPIs, and an execution roadmap.

You will also be responsible for stewarding the player proposition by defining a clear customer focused commercial plan and delivering cross-functional initiatives across teams and geographies. This is a high‑visibility, business‑critical position reporting to the Senior Director, Planning & Proposition, with regular interaction with senior leaders across global business teams.

You will champion evidence‑based decision‑making to learn fast, scale what works, and retire what doesn’t — and ensure the Store’s commercial tactics (pricing, promotions, bundling, lifecycle pricing) are deployed for maximum impact.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Build the end‑to‑end commercial plan. Work with the Store leadership team to design a simple, outcome‑focused plan that delivers revenue, margin, and growth targets. Align leaders on priorities, resourcing, and trade‑offs, and turn strategy into clear objectives, KPIs, and an execution roadmap.
  • Support delivery of the trading rhythm and governance. Create and coordinate inputs for weekly, monthly, and quarterly trading reviews; surface performance drivers, risks, and trends; agree actions and owners; track follow‑through to closure ensuring that tactics and commercial strategies have the desired impact.
  • Forecasting and budgeting. Partner with Finance to help support accurate commercial forecasting; help to tighten the feedback loop from trading into forecasting so targets and assumptions stay current.
  • Customer proposition and journeys. Define the player proposition and identify relevant customer journeys for the Store; embed these across teams and markets; lead cross‑functional initiatives that improve the player experience and optimise player LTV (lifetime value).
  • Competitor and market lens. Track category dynamics, market shifts, and competitor moves; bring a structured competitor view—especially for pricing and promotions—into trading decisions and commercial strategy.
  • Manage a team. This role has the potential to build & manage a high performing team.

What we’re looking for:

  • A minimum of 10+ years (or equivalent) experience in strategic / operational / commercial roles ideally within Tech / Consulting / Retail / Media.
  • Proven experience in driving commercial impact, achieving KPIs, and delivering growth in a fast-paced, sales-driven environment.
  • Practical experience with budgeting, forecasting, revenue growth strategies and running trading cycles
  • Advanced analytical capability to interpret complex data, spot signal vs. noise, and turn insight into clear action; comfortable with experimentation KPIs.
  • Proven cross‑functional leadership & ability to influence senior stakeholders, managing dependencies, and delivering programs across global/local teams.
  • Crisp executive communication. Compelling written and verbal storytelling tailored to senior trading and planning forums.
  • Growth mindset, which is resilient, adaptable, action‑oriented, and focused on outcomes.
  • Prior experience in pricing and promotions in a digital / ecommerce environment.
  • Hands-on experience with experimentation & data‑led decision making. Understands experiment design and measurement, comfortable engaging with Analytics/Data Science partners, and translates insight into operational changes.
  • Customer‑centricity: experience in building customer centric strategies and improving user journeys to improve experience and conversion.
  • Global–local fluency: comfortable operating in global matrix structures and navigating multiple levels of seniority.
  • Education: higher education in Maths, Marketing, Data Science, Business Analytics, Economics (or similar) is a plus
  • Prior game industry experience & a passion for gaming is preferred but not essential.
  • Discretionary bonus opportunity
  • Hybrid Working
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • 25 days holiday per year
  • On Site Gym
  • Free soft drinks
  • Access to cycle garage and showers
