Overview

Finance Specialist role at Heathrow’s Business Services Centre in Glasgow. Involves processing manual journals and ensuring financial data accuracy. Requires strong analytical and numeracy skills. Position offers competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and performance-based bonuses.

Your role will involve
  • Processing manual journals to ensure the accuracy of financial data
  • Understanding of transactional flows to provide analysis and insight on Profit & Loss Accounts versus budgeting
  • Commentary on Financial Performance and Balance Sheet reconciliations. Identifying trends and providing reporting to key business stakeholders
  • Identifying trends in variance analysis to identify risks and opportunities and support the preparation of functional budgets
  • Maintaining key customer relationships to ensure a value-add service, with regular engagement between Heathrow and Finance Service Delivery to promote an integrated team approach across locations
These skills are essential
  • High numeracy and strong analytical skills
  • Curiosity and the drive to question processes to become more efficient
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate effectively at all levels of stakeholders both written and verbally
  • Flexibility, self-motivation, and strong organisational skills. The ability to work on own initiative, without close supervision to plan, prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced changing environment

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Knowledge of Financial Accounting
  • Ability to influence and persuade others

Working location

Your contractual place of work will be the Heathrow Business Services Centre in Glasgow so you'll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to work. We also have some hybrid roles with a working approach which offers the opportunity for colleagues to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process.
