Qualifications

  • Ability to read electronic circuit diagrams.
  • Excellent understanding of PCBA's and components.
  • Experience with IPC standards.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to improve production build efficiency.
  • Maintain build processes and procedures.
  • Investigate production yield, scrap, and rework trends.
  • Solve production issues with root-cause analysis.
  • Provide hands-on support to production technicians.
  • Define and support in-line validation activities.
  • Design jigs/fixtures to aid build and test.
  • Source and develop FAT equipment plans.
  • Support New Product Introduction.
  • Contribute to Design for Assembly activities.

We're looking for a Production Engineer (Electrical bias) with a high level of attention to detail and experience of working in a production environment to join the growing OpenWorks Engineering team.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Identifying opportunities to improve production build efficiency
  • Create and maintain build processes and procedures
  • Investigate production yield, scrap and rework trends
  • Solve problems found in production by carrying out root-cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
  • Providing hands-on-support to production technicians during build, test and fault-finding activities
  • Be the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for your discipline and deliver training to production technicians where required
  • Define, develop and support production with in-line validation activities for new assemblies
  • Design of jigs/fixtures to aid build and test activities
  • Source, commission and develop plans for production FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) equipment
  • Supporting NPI (New Product Introduction) from design through to volume manufacture
  • Contributing to DFA (Design for Assembly) activities
  • Support prototype builds
  • Developing production ready documentation
What we’re looking for:
  • Electrical bias
  • The ability to read electronic circuit diagrams
  • Excellent understanding of PCBA’s and components
  • Experience of IPC standards
  • Experience using electronic test equipment (e.g. multi-meter, oscilloscope)
  • Knowledge of serial communication standards (e.g. RS232, RS422, CAN)
