About the Role

Kingswood Medical Centre in Basildon is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic receptionist to join our busy, well-established team on a part time basis for 25 hours per week. The working pattern each week would be Thursday and Friday 8am – 6.30 pm, and 6hrs on Wednesday alternate weeks of 8am-2pm or 12.30pm-6.30pm.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities will include the following:

  • Greet patients politely and ensuring that the appointment system is run efficiently.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately and in timely manner.
  • Signpost patients to the correct service.
  • Respond to all queries and requests for assistance from patients and other visitors to the practice as appropriate.
  • Enter and book requests for home visits including all relevant information.
  • Explain practice arrangements and requirements for new and temporary patients.
  • Accept registration forms from prospective patients ensuring adherence to practice policies, including the online requests.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Manage administrative queries, tasks, results, etc as necessary in an efficient and timely manner.
About the Candidate

  • Knowledge of primary care and SystmOne is an advantage.
  • Flexible and willing to work outside hours as required.
About Us

We are a GMS non-dispensing practice and look after approximately 10,500 patients with a growing list size and lucky to operate from modern purpose build premises. We are part of Mid and South Essex ICB, and West Basildon Primary Care Network (PCN). The practice is committed to delivering high quality patient care which requires us to have a supportive and cohesive team.

We are incredibly proud of how we provide care for our patients. We are rated as CQC Good and are a high QOF achieving practice.

Our team consists of 2 GP Partners supported by 5 salaried GPs. In addition to our doctors, we have other clinicians working for the practice: ANPs, practice nurses, HCAs, and alsoa variety of support staff from our PCN consisting of Pharmacists, MH practitioners and home visiting service.

The clinical staff are supported by our admin team including receptionists, secretaries, workflow and prescriptions clerk. We are a SystmOne practice and hold regular clinical and practice staff meetings.
