Qualifications

• You must pass a swim test, diving, and swimming timed on both front and back.

• Qualifications in Pool Plant Operation and Defibrillator use are desirable.

Overview

Nestled in the heart of our forest you will find the centrepiece of Center Parcs, the Subtropical Swimming Paradise. Heated to 29.5C all year round and open from 10am to 9pm daily, the huge pool area includes a toddler pool, wave pool, whirlpool and exciting flumes as well as the wild water rapids. There are many activities available from learning to snorkel, scuba diving and aqua jets.

LIFEGUARD - TRAINEE / QUALIFIED | £13.29 per hour

Responsibilities

• Lifeguard is the main point of contact for guests in the Subtropical Swimming Paradise.
• Demonstrate a welcoming, positive, friendly manner and ensure compliance with health and safety in the pool environment.
• As the face of Center Parcs, create a lasting, professional impression and provide guest care.
• Maintain cleanliness standards within the Subtropical Swimming Paradise and ensure company and legal requirements are met at all times.
• For trainee candidates, attend an NPLQ course; offer of employment subject to passing the course and successful interview. The course will be full-time for 5 days and covers responsibilities, guest observation, rescue, first aid and CPR.

Requirements to be a Lifeguard

• You must be a strong swimmer. If invited to interview, you will complete a swim test including diving into deep water, timed and continuous swimming on both front and back, and exiting the pool without using a ladder or steps.
• Disclosures: successful applicant will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check; the disclosure and other information must be satisfactory to commence employment.

Please note you must be able to reliably commute to Center Parcs Woburn Forest, MK45 2HZ as it is not easily accessible by public transport. If you plan to use public transport, plan your journey accordingly.

Hours

We have the following contracts available on a flexible basis. Hours and days may vary each week, but you will always receive at least your contracted hours each period.

• 100 hours per 4 week period

As the village is open 365 days a year, working hours will include public/bank holidays and during Christmas and/or New Year on a rota basis.

About You

You must possess excellent communication skills and be friendly and approachable to provide a supportive role to guests with personal attention and care at all times.

• Ability to perform and remain calm under pressure
• RLSS Pool Lifeguard / NARS Qualification – for qualified lifeguards
• Friendly, genuine and warm towards guests and colleagues

Desirable Requirements

• First Aid Certificate
• Experience in Pool Plant Operation
• Use of a Defibrillator
