A biotechnology company in Oxford is seeking a Sales Consultant to promote their integrated digital laboratory solution. The role involves consultative selling, relationship building, and delivering seminars to drive adoption of the platform in research settings. Candidates should have a scientific background (BSc or MSc in Biosciences) and experience in sales within life sciences or scientific software. The position offers the chance to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment and contribute to building the company's presence in the field.
Sector: Biotech / Scientific Software Sales
Lab Thread is an integrated digital laboratory solution that takes the best of first-generation digital lab management platforms and combines them into a single user-friendly interface, where molecular biology tools, bench-side calculations, ELN records, sample and inventory management, data analysis and team feedback all sit together within the same project workflow.
It is a simple, secure digital thread to connect your science; enhancing collaboration, supporting reproducibility & continuity, and ensuring compliance. With no added effort.
This is not a typical sales role. The "status quo" in academia still relies on paper lab books, ring binders, and disconnected data folders. Adoption requires a behavioural shift that will only happen if you can coherently demonstrate how change will boost research productivity. This will require organising and delivering seminars, working with our partners #OBN and #One Nucleus, onboarding users, and building a network in the field.
In biotech, established platforms are already in place, so you must demonstrate that Lab Thread offers an evolution to, and advantage over, legacy systems.
Translating this message requires consultative selling, research, and deep relationship building.
