Role Description

This is a full‑time on‑site role located in Basingstoke for a Pastoral Support Officer. The Pastoral Support Officer will be responsible for providing day‑to‑day support and guidance to students, helping to address their emotional, social, and behavioural needs. Responsibilities include working closely with students to foster a positive and inclusive school environment, offering advice and interventions to support student well‑being, liaising with parents, teachers, and external agencies to coordinate care and support measures, and maintaining accurate records of student progress.

Qualifications

• Strong Interpersonal and Communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff
• Analytical Skills to assess students’ needs and implement appropriate interventions
• Customer Service and Technical Support skills to handle inquiries and provide guidance
• Empathy, patience, and the ability to build trust and positive relationships with young people
• Knowledge of child safeguarding practices and an understanding of pastoral care best practices
• Prior experience in education, counselling, or a related field is advantageous
• A relevant qualification in education, counselling, psychology, or a similar area
