We are a top ten UK insurance company and the UK’s largest rural insurer, with an agency network of over 250 local offices **Commercial Account Executive (New Business)** **NFU Mutual Agency - Uckfield & Brighton** **Salary - £30,000 – £45,000 depending on experience + benefits** **About the agency** NFU Mutual's Uckfield & Brighton agencyhas recently undergone an exciting transformation. Following the successful merger of our Brighton and Uckfield agencies, and our relocation to a new base in Hove, we now operate as a growing partnership across two sites. This expansion has significantly strengthened our commercial presence across Sussex and created genuine opportunity to grow a high-quality commercial insurance portfolio. We are now looking for a Commercial Account Executive to join our team, someone who enjoys building relationships, understands that trust matters in insurance, and values relationships, and working within a close-knit team. **The Role** This is a relationship-led commercial insurance sales role, combining telephone, digital, and face-to-face activity. You will be responsible for generating and converting new commercial business through a blend of proactive prospecting (calls, emails, social media, networking), local knowledge, referrals, and word-of-mouth opportunities. You will also be able to leverage our existing commercial book to support new business acquisition and introductions. You will meet clients both over the phone and in person at their premises, taking the time to genuinely understand their business, risks, and future plans. Our USP is personable service, expert advice, and a deep understanding of our clients’ businesses. **Training & Support** You will receive extensive training and support, including: • Structured onboarding and development • Support to achieve internal licences and competence • Ongoing mentoring from experienced commercial colleagues • Access to an established commercial client base to support growth This is a role where you will be developed properly, supported consistently, and given the time and tools needed to succeed. **Key Responsibilities** • Generate new commercial insurance opportunities through proactive prospecting and networking • Build and manage your own pipeline of prospects and opportunities • Advise clients on appropriate commercial insurance solutions underwritten by NFU Mutual, and the market • Convert opportunities into sustainable, long-term client relationships • Identify and cross-sell appropriate additional covers • Work accurately and compliantly within a regulated environment • Deliver a high standard of professional, personal client service## The Person We’re Looking ForExperience in commercial insurance, sales, or business development is advantageous but not essential. **You will likely:** • Be confident speaking with business owners and decision-makers • Enjoy building long-term relationships rather than transactional sales • Be organised, self-motivated, and comfortable managing your own workload • Take pride in providing expert advice and doing things properly • Be able to demonstrate the ability to learn and advise on a technical subject matter • Value working within a supportive, close-knit team environment Hours • Full-time • Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm.
