Nursery name: Tops Prince Rock Nursery is a 42 place Day Nursery & Pre-School situated in Plymouth. The nursery runs several extra-curricular activities including cooking school, Boogie Mites, yoga, tooth brushing and much more.

About The Nursery Manager Role

Do you have Early Years Leadership experience and are you looking for a fresh new challenge? As a Nursery Manager, you’ll help create a safe, educational, and fun environment for the children in our care. You’ll supervise children, ensure their safety, and organize activities such as games, crafts, and educational tasks. You’ll work to ensure a positive, engaging environment for children during a key development phase.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership and management of the nursery setting
  • Supervise children, ensure safety and wellbeing
  • Plan and deliver engaging, educational activities
  • Communicate effectively with children, staff and parents
  • Manage recruitment and interviewing of potential candidates
  • Manage and maintain the nursery budget
  • Coordinate marketing materials and campaigns
  • Oversee facility and equipment maintenance
  • Provide updates to parents on child progress and behaviour
  • Handle enrolment, payments, and policy enquiries
  • Plan age-appropriate annual events and activities
  • Prepare for Ofsted inspections and implement feedback

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum of Level 3 Early Years Qualification
  • Solid knowledge of the EYFS
  • Strong safeguarding procedures understanding

Because this role involves regulated activity with children, all candidates must:

  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service. If you don’t yet have one, you’ll need to cover the cost.
  • Be eligible to work in regulated roles and not be on the Children’s Barred List.
  • Successfully complete background and reference checks.
