Qualifications

• Personal lived experience of secondary mental health services and own recovery journey.

Responsibilities

• Support and engage service users and their families.
• Facilitate groups for women and their babies.
• Support women to access various support organizations.
• Empower women to have their voices heard in their own care.
• Help staff to understand challenges of perinatal illness.

Skills

Good interpersonal and team-working skills

Ability to share personal story of recovery in a professional manner

Understanding of personal values and beliefs

Education

Completion of Peer Support Specialist Training

Good level of secondary education

Commitment to complete the CNTW Peer Supporter Educational Programme

Completion of Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) training

Completion of WRAP Educator training
