Job summary

A major construction firm in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead procurement across construction projects. You will manage subcontractor procurement, contract negotiations, and ensure compliance with public-sector regulations. Ideal candidates will have expertise in construction procurement and stakeholder engagement. This role offers a chance to play a critical part in a large-scale infrastructure program, focusing on efficiency and cost control.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience procuring and managing subcontractors within construction or major infrastructure environments.
  • Solid background in utilities, energy, capital works, or infrastructure procurement.
  • Knowledge of public‑sector procurement regulations or similar governance frameworks.
  • Experience managing complex tenders, subcontractor pricing, and long‑term supplier relationships.
  • Strong communication skills and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the procurement of subcontractors and professional consultants across the programme.
  • Manage end‑to‑end tendering processes, including evaluation and contract award.
  • Ensure procurement activity complies with public‑sector regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers and engineers to forecast requirements.
  • Lead contract negotiations and support subcontractor performance management.
