Due to a forthcoming retirement, a vacancy has arisen for a Practice nurse to join our friendly and supportive team at Calderlea Surgery in East Kilbride. We are a multidisciplinary team including 3 GP partners, 2 salaried GPs, 1 ANP, 7 admin staff, and extended team including pharmacy support, Link worker, Mental Health Liaison nurse and OT. Our list size is approx 6000. Salary will be competitive. 21 hours per week over 3 days.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic Practice Nurse to provide excellent patient care. The Practice nurse should be a prescriber and competent in:

Clinical Key areas of responsibility

• Management of long-term conditions including Asthma/COPD, Diabetes, Hypertension, CHD
• Monitoring of Chronic disease based on protocols including relevant prescribing changes.
• Arrange blood tests and interpret results
• Cervical screening
• Contraceptive services and HRT
• Delivery of lifestyle advice and health promotion
• Maintain accurate patient records and using agreed Read Codes
• Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient health care.

General

• Maintain own annual registration with the NMC and adhere to Code of Professional Conduct
• Promote a professional approach at all times by attire and attitude to patients and staff both in and out of practice.
• Maintain own professional development and ensure PDP kept up-to-date in line with the requirements of the Practice
• Attend and participate in Practice clinical meetings.
• Any other reasonable duties that may be required and not listed.
