A community-focused organization is seeking volunteers for the Education Volunteer role in Ellesmere Port, UK. This position involves leading outdoor educational activities and inspiring children through engaging programs. Volunteers will receive training and support while having the chance to work flexibly, making a positive impact on young people's lives. If you are interested in hands-on learning and sharing waterway heritage, this is a rewarding opportunity for you.
Being an Explorers Volunteer is a rewarding experience. The role is full of variety, flexibility and a lot of fun! We inspire children and young people about our canals and rivers, using the waterways as a tool to build life skills, raise aspirations and connect children with the great outdoors.
At the National Waterways Museum we have a programme of activities that schools can book, from guided tours, to workshops and lock demonstrations. We work with many other volunteer teams to enhance the school visit experience. There is also the opportunity to visit schools to deliver activities and to deliver family activities during school holidays. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to volunteer for one day a month or more.
We give you full training and provide resources for leading groups of children, with training days and team meetings. You will have the support of a Learning & Skills Co-ordinator as well as the other volunteers in your team. We reimburse you for all travel costs.
