Overview

Lead Practitioner for Teaching & Learning: KS1/KS2. This is a demanding, high-impact leadership role focused on improving the quality of teaching and learning. The role requires a regular teaching commitment and leading by example from the front of the classroom.

Contract: Permanent | Contract Type: Full-time | Working Pattern: Full Time - talk to us about flexible working | Start Date: April 2026 | Application Close: 05/02/2026 (Midday) | Interviews: 9 February 2026

Responsibilities
  • Lead teacher development through a deep understanding of the science of learning, and drive academic outcomes through evidence-informed practice.
  • Coach and develop teachers, in partnership with the existing Teaching & Learning team; act as a role model in classroom practice.
  • Lead with a focus on understanding, retention, and the application of knowledge across KS1 and KS2.
  • Collaborate with the Gateway Learning Community (GLC) schools to uphold equality of opportunity and an inclusive school environment.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience in leading teaching and learning initiatives with a track record of improving pupil outcomes.
  • Expert coach with knowledge of effective instructional strategies (preferably Steplab).
  • Commitment to evidence-informed research and reflective practice.
