Skills and Competencies
  • Extensive experience (8+ years) building and shipping production-grade software systems or services, including distributed systems and large-scale data processing; 10+ years and Engineering Manager/Technical Lead experience preferred
  • Proven ability to design, build, and operate online services and fault‑tolerant distributed systems at internet scale, including cloud service development (Azure or AWS)
  • Demonstrable proficiency in C++/C#/Java, REST APIs, agile and test‑driven development, and secure software design concepts
  • Hands‑on experience with artificial intelligence concepts and tools to streamline engineering workflows and address complex business challenges; awareness of AI risk management and ethical use
  • Strong problem‑solving, debugging, and data‑driven iterative improvement skills; familiarity with microservices, DevSecOps, and cloud‑scale distributed design patterns
  • Experience building and scaling full‑stack engineering teams across geographies, architecting and delivering distributed cloud services, and working with modern infrastructure tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) preferred
Education
  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
Responsibilities
  • Lead and scale a high‑impact engineering team delivering core platform features and services for Moodyʼs Analytics Platform.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a geographically distributed engineering team, fostering an inclusive and high‑performing environment
  • Own team planning, hiring, performance management, and career development
  • Regularly review and enhance engineering processes, automation, and tooling to improve developer productivity
  • Drive execution of engineering deliverables with a focus on quality, scalability, performance, and operational readiness
  • Provide hands‑on technical guidance and architectural oversight across a modern tech stack
  • Lead development and delivery of platforming projects, including shared services, developer tooling, and infrastructure capabilities
  • Ensure the team supports production systems and participates in on‑call rotations
  • Establish and maintain engineering excellence through clean code, unit testing, code reviews, CI/CD, agile methodologies, and DevSecOps principles
  • Collaborate with leadership and partner teams across regions to align priorities, architecture, and delivery timelines
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination across time zones and geographies
  • Ensure services meet or exceed SLAs, with robust monitoring, alerting, and incident management
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues impacting reliability, performance, or security
  • Partner with finance, procurement, and security teams to manage infrastructure costs, embed DevSecOps practices, and ensure compliance with frameworks such as SOC2 and ISO 27001
