Job description
Overview

We are the Information Intelligence Group (IIG) of CACI UK, a specialist software consultancy providing bespoke solutions to solve our customers’ complex operational problems. We are looking for an experienced Devops Engineer to join one of our live projects in our National Security Team.

At IIG, there’s no such thing as a typical solution. We value intelligence, fast learners, flexibility and excitement about tackling new opportunities. Our work is highly collaborative, so friendly relationship builders are vital to our teams.

The Role

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Devops Engineer to join an Agile engineering team to work on a large, complex programme for one of our National Security Customers, building a new bespoke software solution. You will be involved in:

  • Designing, implementing and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure & private clouds.
  • Deploying, scaling and managing Kubernetes clusters. Familiarity with Docker and Helm is preferred.
  • Developing and implementing automated tools and processes for building, deployment, monitoring, testing and maintenance of infrastructure and applications.
  • Developing and maintaining policies and procedures for security, compliance, and disaster recovery.
  • Optimising infrastructure for high availability, fault tolerance, and cost efficiency.
  • Continuously monitoring and improving infrastructure and application performance.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure and application issues.
  • Managing and mentoring junior DevOps engineers.

The role is office-based 4 or 5 days per week in Cheltenham, Bristol or Manchester.

Fit

We are looking to recruit a self-motivated, multi-tasking team player. You will have experience in a DevOps-focused role, able to contribute to the development of new software products and enhancements to existing products. You should enjoy working with large-scale applications and frameworks and have strong communication and leadership skills. We are interested in candidates with experience in some of the following:

  • Developing and deploying secure products using appropriate technology and patterns.
  • Familiarity with key cloud concepts and technologies.
  • Designing and operating highly available shared solutions.
  • Working in agile environments using Scrum and Kanban.
  • Engaging with high-level stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Experience with technologies such as GitLab, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Packer, Vault, Serverless, Elastic Stack, Prometheus, Grafana, Artifactory & Nexus.

Security clearance: Due to the nature of the sector, applicants may be preferred to hold high-level security clearance. To qualify, you must be a British passport holder and have lived permanently in the UK for the last 5 years.
