Job description
**Commodity Buyer (Grade 11)** * Maintain and improve SAP records and site forecast files.* Ensure adherence to IATF 16949 and Customer Specific Requirements (CSRs).* Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance purchasing efficiency* Regularly attend monthly communication meetings to ensure understanding of the organisation and the importance of meeting customer as well as statutory and regulatory requirements* Proactively ensure quality procedures and guidelines are followed to ensure quality objectives are met* Escalate any customer quality concern immediately upon identification* Strong negotiation and analytical skills with a proven track record in cost reduction.* Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel for data analysis and forecasting.* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.* Deep understanding of automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO9001).* 3–5 years of experience in procurement or commodity buying, preferably in the automotive sector.* Familiarity with global sourcing, supplier development, and contract management.* Experience with casting, machined components, or other automotive commodities is advantageous.* HNC, HND or Degree qualified – preferably in an Engineering, Procurement or Business discipline, or equivalent experience.* Procurement Certification: CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent professional qualifications.* Language Skills: Additional language capabilities (e.g., German, Spanish, Mandarin) for global sourcing.* Self-motivated and have a strong and flexible attitude towards work* Ability to stay calm in high stress situations* Ability to communicate at all levels* Team Orientated* Excellent attention to detail* Ability to work under pressure and to deadline when required* The ability to prioritise and organise own workload* To comply to PHINIA Health, Safety and Environmental regulations such as PPE showing responsibility of personal safety and that of others.* Treat work colleagues with respect.
