Celebrating our centenary in 2025, our beautifully maintained 18-hole parkland course offers a rewarding challenge for golfers of all abilities. As we look to the future, we are entering an exciting new phase of growth and development—and we’re now seeking an outstanding Club Manager to join our Management Team.

Your Opportunity to Make a Difference

This is a unique opportunity for a passionate, proactive, and people-focused leader to play a central role in shaping the future of our club. Working closely with the Course Manager and House Manager, you will help deliver an exceptional experience for our members, guests, and visitors.

You’ll have wide-ranging responsibility for the successful day-to-day operation of the club, including member engagement, financial performance, marketing and promotions, and the leadership and development of our dedicated team. With scope to bring fresh ideas, energy, and innovation, this role offers real influence, autonomy, and the chance to leave a lasting legacy at a forward-looking club.

Who You Will Work With

You will report directly to the Management Board to align business goals with club values and work closely with the Bar and Catering Manager and Head Greenkeeper. You will lead the Office and Golf Shop team to manage the delivery of a great golfing experience for members and visitors alike.

Responsibilities
People and Culture
  • Inspire and support your team with clear goals, regular communication and leadership by example.
  • Oversee recruitment and professional growth, nurturing a warm and motivated club culture.
  • Ensure the wellbeing of your staff and uphold high standards for both employees and members alike.
  • Champion continuous improvement by embedding clear, achievable KPIs.
Finance and Planning
  • Collaborate with the Management Board to shape and manage budgets, forecasts, and long-term business plans.
  • Monitor income and expenditure, flagging any trends and opportunities along the way.
  • Drive efficiencies while maintaining top-tier standards in every area of club life.
Club Operations and Administration
  • Ensure efficient delivery of club operations—from procurement to member communication.
  • Support member meetings and social events.
  • Keep members up to date on club matters through regular communication and ongoing engagement.
  • Stay informed and updated on trends impacting the future of the golf industry, helping Melton Mowbray Golf Club evolve and thrive.
  • Manage delivery of an appropriate and profitable retail offering.
  • In conjunction with Golf Operations Director, develop and deliver an interesting and varied program of golfing competitions and events.
Marketing and Growth
  • Help grow the Club by promoting the Club’s offerings, events, and its idyllic setting.
  • Use social media and the Club website to raise the Club’s profile to grow the membership and increase visitor numbers.
  • Work closely with the team in delivering corporate days, society events, and open competitions that celebrate what makes Melton Mowbray Golf Club special.
Clubhouse and Facilities
  • Work closely with the Bar and Catering Manager to deliver the services required.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair projects with care and attention to detail.
About You

We’d love to hear from you if you are:

  • A confident, people-focused leader with proven business acumen (recognised club/operations/management qualification, or equivalent professional experience)
  • Experienced in managing teams and financial operations
  • Adaptable, positive, and always ready to roll up your sleeves
  • Familiar with the golfing world and with an understanding of what makes a member-led club tick
  • Knowledgeable about current legislation around employment, safety and safeguarding
What We Offer
  • At Melton Mowbray Golf Club, you will be part of a well-established community that is looking to grow and also provide you with career opportunities. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer that celebrates diversity and inclusion.
