Qualifications

  • Passion for making a difference to the lives of children in care.
  • At least 2 years in a residential care position for children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
  • Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care is essential; Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is preferred at application.
  • Strong knowledge of the Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent planning, organising, budgeting, resource allocation and team leadership skills.
  • Confidence in effective spoken and written communication.
  • Understanding of trauma and experience managing challenging behaviour.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive care plans for each young person, addressing care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs.
  • Build and lead a strong team, delivering company induction and personal development plans.
  • Consult with young people to gather their feedback on the care they receive.
  • Assign a Key Worker to each young person to implement their care plan.
  • Maintain high-quality care standards in line with the Home’s Statement of Purpose.
  • Take responsibility for addressing complaints and child-protection concerns.
  • Collaborate with parents, carers and other professionals to promote the welfare of young people.
  • Attend and contribute to care-planning and review meetings.
  • Create a safe culture ensuring children receive the best possible standard of care.
  • Manage the home commercially, aligning operations to budget expectations.

Contract: Full Time, Permanent, 40 hours per week
Salary: Competitive salary based on experience plus £5,000 annual bonus
