Role Overview

We are recruiting for a new Chief Officer who will lead our Integration Joint Board and HSCP and ensure it fulfills our ambition to improve the health of the population, enhance the capacity for people to better manage their health and to care for their dependents, reduce our dependence on hospital care, and ensure patients are cared for in the most appropriate place for their needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead our Integration Joint Board and HSCP across health & care services in the Scottish Borders and with a range of third sector providers.
  • Design seamless, innovative and inclusive services that deliver excellent value for money.
  • Manage a delegated budget of £229m and serve a population of 118,000.
  • Represent and liaise with the two Chief Executives, stakeholders and the public.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Background in Social Work/Care or Health.
  • Political astuteness, diplomacy and leadership.
  • Significant experience at a strategic level.
  • Evidence of success in public sector transformation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
