Job summary

Care Assistant for Gentleman P/T @ £12.40 in Staple Hill - Bristol - BS16

A gentleman located within Staple Hill requires a Personal Assistant. It is important the applicant demonstrates patience, empathy, and flexibility, with some knowledge of ASD & ADHD and understanding of mental health issues that can occur in neurodivergent individuals.

Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional support and help the individual maintain their mental health.
  • Assist with life administration and help the individual maintain focus.
  • Help with budgeting and maintaining household finances.
  • Communicate with contractors, tradespeople, and utilities/insurance suppliers.
  • Help the individual interpret and complete complex forms (e.g., communications from W.E.C.I.L and DWP benefit review and application forms).
  • Function as an advocate when communicating with W.E.C.I.L, DWP, and other organisations.
Essential Criteria
  • Experience and understanding of working with someone with autism.
  • Good understanding of IT software and computers.
  • Knowledge and experience of current PIP/benefit legislation.
  • Must have own vehicle; mileage is included for specific activities.
Personal Qualities
  • Responsible, reliable, trustworthy, with a flexible approach.
  • Excellent timekeeping.
  • Previous experience as a support worker would be advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Non-judgemental outlook.
  • Respect for client confidentiality and privacy.
Location

Staple Hill, Bristol.

Hours

3 per week (either Monday or Tuesday morning between 9 and 12).

Pay

£12.40 Per Hour.

Holiday

5.6 weeks per year including bank holidays (pro rata for part time).

Start Date

ASAP.

Additional Information

Appointment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, funded by the employer.
