Job summary

A leading foodservice provider in the UK is seeking a dedicated individual to operate and maintain HGV vehicles as part of their logistics team. The role involves ensuring vehicles are prepared for loading, checking for defects, and maintaining communication with warehouse staff. About the role

You will be supporting with the loading operation, moving our fleet of HGV vehicles to meet our vehicles departure times, class C + E licence, digital tacho card and DQC are all essential.

You will ensure that the correct vehicles are checked for defects, presented in the correct bays for loading, returning loaded vehicles to their station and ensuring that vehicle temperature equipment is plugged in and working. You will also check and record vehicle temperatures at regular intervals to ensure that they are within acceptable limits.

You will be responsible for moving vehicles with care and avoiding undue wear and tear, reporting any vehicle damage. You will be responsible for liaising with the Warehouse Operatives and Managers in order to ensure effective communication and an effective shift.

You will be responsible for returning any stock, cages and pallets to their correct places in a timely and tidy manner.

This role is Monday - Sunday, any 5 out of 7 days working on the nightshift.
