Job description
Building Control Support Administrator

Location: Manchester

Bureau Veritas is seeking a highly organised and proactive Business Support Administrator to join our Building Control team in the UK. This role is vital in ensuring our operations meet both statutory obligations and internal business standards. You’ll work closely with the Business Support Manager and technical teams to support project delivery, client communications, and administrative processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and manage Building Control projects using Deltek, from initial appointment to final certification
  • Ensure accurate project details including site inspection office, Local Authority, and fee recipient
  • Prepare and manage documentation such as fee proposals, legal notices, inspection reports, and consultations
  • Generate reports to support management and technical teams with performance tracking and reminders
  • Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors regarding Building Regulation applications
  • Provide administrative support across the business unit and wider Bureau Veritas UK network
  • Maintain ICT systems, databases, and document management platforms
  • Log site inspections and update project records for the surveying team
  • Handle incoming calls and enquiries professionally and efficiently
  • Assist with complaint handling and ensure responses are logged per company policy
  • Prioritise and manage incoming emails and post for the business unit
  • Support internal training events, team briefings, and office management duties
  • Attend and assist with internal and external meetings
  • Ensure compliance with Bureau Veritas procedures, including SOPs and KPIs
  • Collaborate with the commercial team to ensure accurate invoicing and contract management
  • Support debt recovery efforts and provide training to new staff on administrative processes
  • Undertake other duties as reasonably required
Experience and Skills

You should have proven administration experience, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to handle confidential information securely. Excellent customer service and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential. You’ll need to be able to prioritise tasks, manage your workload effectively, and work well both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable qualifications include knowledge of Deltek or similar systems, a minimum of GCSEs in Mathematics and English, and experience in the construction sector or a similar administrative role.
