The Role – Business Development Manager
This role offers the opportunity to shape the company’s future pipeline and play a key part in strategic growth.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving new business opportunities, expanding client relationships, and supporting the company’s growth across civil engineering and M&E projects. The role requires a proactive, commercially minded individual with a strong network and proven track record in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across rail, airports, energy, and wider infrastructure sectors
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders
- Lead tendering and bid activity in collaboration with internal teams
- Attend client meetings, industry events, and site visits to promote the company’s capabilities
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities
- Work closely with Project Managers, Commercial, Operations, and Engineering teams to align business development strategy with delivery capability
- Prepare proposals, presentations, and commercial documentation
- Contribute to long‑term business planning and revenue forecasting
- Represent the company professionally and consistently across all interactions
The Right Person
- Minimum 5 years’ proven experience as a Business Development Manager in the construction industry
- Experience within the energy sector or commercial construction is highly desirable
- Demonstrable track record of winning work and growing accounts
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied workload
- Strategic thinker with a proactive, solutions‑focused approach
- Willingness to travel nationwide as required
- Able to commute to head office in Luton as and when required for meetings
