Due to the nature of work that Sonic Healthcare UK undertakes, our clients require that Employees filling certain roles, need, as part of their on-boarding to complete a DBS Check. This role falls in to the category of requiring a DBS check (standard)
About the role: A vacancy has arisen for a Blood Transfusion Manager in our Blood Sciences Department based at the Lister Hospital Essential Services Laboratory (ESL). Health Services Laboratories now provide Pathology services to the East and North Hertfordshire Trust following implementation of a new Pathology and Phlebotomy services programme commissioned by the Herts and West Essex Integrated Care Board with services commenced from 1st March 2025. The role will involve leading the Blood Transfusion team and maintaining compliance with UKAS and MHRA, and supporting the BMS staff as and when required in the section. The post holder is also expected to work collaboratively with the other Seniors and Managers in the Pathology Department. The department provides a blood transfusion service for private and community hospitals in addition to the Lister Hospital. We are looking for someone to continue progressing our quality environment, with a flexible and innovative approach as a technical manager. Continual quality improvement is central to our values, especially user involvement and engagement in developing our service to them. Skills such as project management, organisational change, routine administration, personnel, finance and quality management will be valuable. HSL supports professional and personal development through experiential learning and both internal and external courses and learning opportunities. You will be required to work 40 hours per week during core hours.
