A leading construction firm in the UK is seeking a Biosolids Recycling Controller to ensure sustainable recycling of biosolids to land. The successful candidate will maintain compliance with regulations, liaise with contractors and farmers, and contribute to the dynamic growth of the team. An understanding of agricultural practices and strong communication skills are essential for building relationships with clients. If so, then we have a great opportunity to join our team as a Biosolids Recycling Controller!This will be a field-based role which could see you regularly travelling throughout the Wessex Water region.
As the Biosolids Recycling Controller, you will work to ensure that biosolids are sustainably recycled to land across the Wessex Water region.
To do this, you will liaise with the contractors delivering the operation and the 200+ farmers who purchase the 240,000t of biosolids each year, where you will make the initial farm contact and build good working relationships.
A key part of this role is to ensure we maintain our compliance with regulations, such as Farming Rules for Water(FRfW) nitrate vulnerable zones (NVZ), and sludge and environmental regulations.
To keep compliance, it is essential that all operational environmental, sludge and agricultural procedures are followed, and all activities are recorded on the company system for audit purposes by the Environmental Agency and Biosolids Assurance Scheme(BAS).
You will use your industry expertise to run a safe operation that generates maximum income and keeps costs down.
This role will be key in helping the team progress and adapt to new challenges, whether developing new markets, exploring new products, or incorporating new regulatory or environmental changes.
To be successful, your customer service skills will be excellent. You will also be a strong communicator and confident liaising with colleagues, contractors and farmers, where you can share their expertise and capabilities.
A good understanding of agriculture to help build relationships with existing customers, whilst developing new customers to increase the available landbank.
