Bar staffing opportunity at The Mechanical Elephant, Margate. Pay: £12.31 per hour. Hours: 12 per week, flexible across mornings, evenings, weekends and late finishes. Closing date: 20‑01‑2026.

Role

Work as part of a team to serve food and drinks to the correct specification, working efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety and customer service. Our pubs open early and close late, offering great flexibility with shift patterns.

Duties

• Take orders, prepare, dispense and serve drinks to the correct spec, via bar or customer app.
• Deliver food to customers, ensure check‑backs are completed and clear plates within the required timeframe.
• Provide friendly customer interactions – say hello, thank customers and build rapport.
• Stay knowledgeable about promotions, events and new products.
• Maintain ‘clean as you go’ standards – clear tables, wipe surfaces and perform toilet checks.
• Work in all areas, including glass‑washing, restocking fridges, floor and beer‑garden clearing and other duties as needed.
