Responsibilities

• Carries out the routine testing requirements.
• Records and archives test data generated.
• Reports unusual variations and out-of-specification results.
• Performs 'Work Requests' as needed.
• Develops and reviews laboratory procedures.
• Ensures health, safety & environmental standards are met.
• Maintains a safe laboratory environment.
• Works under initiative once trained.

Skills

Ability to work unsupervised following a planned work schedule

Basic writing and numeracy skills

Familiarity with computers / keyboards / typing skills

Word, Excel, Access – statistics, graphs, data analysis

General awareness of safety issues in a laboratory

Education

GCSEs in Maths, English, and a science subject at grade 4-9
