Job description

GMA Air Conditioning are expanding, and we’re looking for a skilled Air Conditioning Engineer to join our growing team. Based in Edinburgh or the Lothians, you’ll support a diverse portfolio of clients across Scotland, including the renewable energy sector, public sector organisations, healthcare facilities, and private commercial properties.

About the Role

You will carry out servicing, reactive fault-finding, maintenance, and installation, on a wide range of air conditioning and HVAC systems.

The role offers variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to work within a company that values high standards, professionalism, and long‑term client relationships.

The role would be based on a 40 hour working week with no on-call requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service, maintain & install air conditioning systems (VRV/VRF, splits, multi‑splits, heat pumps).
  • Service & maintain air handling units to SHTM 03-01 standards (full training provided)
  • Diagnose and repair system faults efficiently and safely.
  • Complete compliance documentation and job reports to a high standard.
  • Work independently or as part of a team depending on project requirements.
  • Represent GMA Air Conditioning professionally on client sites across Scotland.
What We’re Looking For
  • Time‑served Air Conditioning Engineer with relevant qualifications (FGAS 2079 essential).
  • Experience working with commercial HVAC systems.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work safely, efficiently, and with minimal supervision.
  • Full UK driving licence.
